How to Get Your Agency Emails on the Nice List

‘Tis the season for holiday emails! If you’re planning to send a seasonal message to your recipients, you might want to check out these four tips to get on your subscribers’ nice lists this year.

  1. Lose the Aggressive Sales Agenda

Just because it’s the season of spending doesn’t mean recipients are suddenly open to a barrage of promotional sales pitch emails. They are likely getting those elsewhere in their inbox.

Instead of going for the hard-sell, try offering something helpful.  For example, holiday safety tips or guides. Your subscribers will appreciate your efforts to help reduce holiday stress. Take a look at this latest blog post for some seasonal topic ideas.

  1. Make it Personal

The holidays are a wonderful opportunity to humanize your insurance agency and connect with your audience. Don’t be afraid to use genuine, warm-fuzzy sentiments to build a meaningful relationship to last beyond the New Year.

  1. Respect Their Time

Right now is the busiest time of the year for everyone. Be respectful of subscribers’ time by keeping emails concise. Get to the point fast.

Instead of filling your email to the brim with large chunks of information, streamline it. Use bulleted lists that can be skimmed with minimal time or effort. Simplify content to its most essential parts.

  1. Ditch the Office Hours Announcement

Most consumers have a reasonable expectation that you will close on national holidays. Will your agency will close beyond the usual dates? Do you expect a high influx of inquiries while you’re away?

If not, skip the email blasts notifying subscribers of your holiday hours. Instead, add them as a small notice in your monthly newsletter.
