Are you looking for ways to enhance your insurance emails, but don’t have time? I’ve rounded up a few quick and easy hacks to boost your marketing emails in as little as five minutes.
Review the Email (Again)
Before you send the email, take a moment to walk away and do something else. Once you cleared your mind completely, return to review the email one last time. You'd be surprised how many things you may have missed.
Spelling and grammar checkers don't catch all errors. Read each sentence individually and look at word choice, verb tenses, and punctuation. Then re-read the entire body of the email and remove unnecessary filler that could slow down or disrupt the flow of your email.
Finally, go beyond basic editing to optimize your email for deliverability and engagement. Check for spammy words or phrases, image properties, and calls-to-action (CTA). Additionally, look at your email layout and make sure it is clean, simple, and skimmable.
Add a Hyperlink CTA
In general, if someone chooses to engage with your agency through email, they won’t want to talk with you over the phone. Even if you prefer email recipients call your office, you should also include an additional way for them to take action online.
You can easily add a link to your email that goes to your website or a dedicated landing page. Link to your social media pages, or even add a reply-to email address.
Hyperlink calls to action are easy to track and provide valuable insight about your subscribers. As an added bonus, some email service providers (ESPs) have also used hyperlink statistics in their engagement algorithms that determine inbox placement.
Optimize Subject Lines
Email recipients use subject lines to determine which emails to open and which to delete. Subscribers can't engage with an email they never see. So, it is imperative to choose the best subject line possible.
Time, distractions, and overthinking are three of the biggest challenges for subject lines. To overcome these obstacles, set aside time to focus on and craft your subject line. Give yourself a five minute limit to prevent overthinking and stick to your deadline.
Once you determined the subject line, proof and optimize it. It should not contain any spelling or grammar errors or inconsistent formatting. You should also confirm it does not include trigger words for ESP spam filters.
Implement A/B Split Testing
An A/B split test is a quick and easy way to optimize an email campaign and provide actionable insights about your email subscribers. You can use the data to hypothesize about your subscribers' interests and motivations.
Since A/B split tests should only examine a single element, they are easy to execute. Several email marketing providers make it even easier to set up and automate the process for you.
